Young Chefs Battle it out Part 2 #Blog

What a great afternoon I had Yesterday at West Cheshire College where another 6 young chefs competed to win a place in the Semi Finals of our Young Chef Competition 2017. I got the delights of joining Izzy Grey from We Love Cheshire as a judge, to pick our top 4 to join Richard, Matthew, Tamara and James in the semi Final.
With only 45 minutes to create two identical dishes, it’s quite a challenge for our Young chefs but it certainly did not phase them and the results were great! We were lucky enough to be treated to Salmon Risotto, Fish and Chips, Lime Cheese Cake, Pork Fillet, Lamb Burgers and Poached Salmon.
Once again, the results were exceptional, making it very hard to judge but after some time we agreed which Young chefs will be going through to the next round. So, we are happy to announce that Melissa, Cai, Edward and Finn will be joining our South Cheshire Quarter Finalists at the semi-final held at West Cheshire College on February 8th, with our head judge Brian Mellor of Harthill Cookery School. Where we will discover our top 4 to go on to the Chef demonstration stage at this year’s Chester Food Drink and Lifestyle Festival and be judged live on stage in front of a large crowd by MasterChef’s Gregg Wallace.
