It’s that time of the week again; Taste Cheshire Tuesdays! and last night myself and Gavin were delighted to be joined by Paula and Milo from Bar Lounge. Who popped in to discuss the titles they won at last week’s Taste Cheshire Awards, the VIP area they ran at the Chester Food and Drink Festival and the fabulous deals they have coming up over race season and into the summer months.

Bar Lounge has recently reopened after a massive refurbishment, which has included a new look, a longer bar and more seating; perfect for your after-work drinks during the summer or a few pre and post races tipples. They have also revamped the menu with a few new dishes, but keeping some of the old favourites, which we were lucky enough to sample.

Milo and Paula brought us a selection of dishes from there sharing board menu including the Honey Glazed Baby Sausages, Tempura Tiger Prawn Lollipops and the Lemon & Honey Chicken Super Food Salad. The sausages are locally sourced, like all Bar Lounge’s meat and they are glazed in a lovely honey and wholegrain mustard sauce, we could certainly understand how these are a crowd favourite and one of the biggest sellers. The Tiger Prawn Lollipops, were lovely and juicy prawns in a perfectly crisp light batter, served with a sweet chilli sauce, the ideal complimentary addition with just enough of a kick. The Chicken Superfood Salad was a personal favourite ideal for those summer evenings or ladies who lunch. The chicken was moist and the leaves were dressed with a lovey fresh dressing, and even better its healthy with all those super foods. All three dishes perfectly complimented each other, but if one isn’t quite up your street, don’t panic they have over 20 different options for you to mix and match on the sharing boards, or why not try one of their infamous main courses.

So, get yourselves down to Bar Lounge and sample the new menu for yourself, don’t take our word it.
