This week myself and Gavin were joined by the lovely Emma and Jack from Bents Garden and Home in Warrington. Bents have so much going on this year with it being there 80th anniversary, it was a pleasure to have Emma and Jack tell us all about what they have going on and of course share some of there delicious sweet treats with us.
Bent’s is much bigger than I realised I must admit, with a new Food Hall, Children’s Boutique, Cook Shop and Pet Place, just to name a few, it is certainly is a must visit destination. Bents have 6 dining destination; as they like to call them, supported by 20 chefs and many other talented staff members. Everything from freshly prepared meals in The Fresh Approach Restaurant, to home made sandwiches, soups and speciality patisseries in Caffé nel Verde and quick pick me ups in the Fresh Express and Caffé Lago. The chefs prepare everything on the premises, using fresh, locally sourced ingredients ensuring quality choice are at the very heart of dining at Bents. Bents is a forth generation family run company that even welcomes your four legged friends in the The Pet Place, with a groom room and pet café, where your furry friend can enjoy a refreshing drink or woof-in!
Of course our favourite part of the evening was tucking in to to fabulous selection of deserts that the guys let us sample. We enjoyed a Bents version of a Manchester tart, a cherry scone with clotted cream and jam ( they also brought a fruit scone and make many variety everyday withe top secret recipe which hasn’t changed since the 1980’s) a gluten free chocolate fudge cake and a raspberry and lemon roulade. My personal favourite was the gluten free chocolate fudge cake which was rich and just melted in the mouth, we all agreed you couldn’t even tell the difference – except for the gluten free sticker. The other favourite in the group was the Bents Manchester tart , which is slightly different from the traditional as they top it off with a coconut cream, the team are actually donating £1 from every tart sold to the Manchester Emergency fund as well as many other fundraising activities.
So get yourselves over to bents Garden and home, lots to do for the whole family and plenty of food to suit everyone palette.
Enjoy a delicious meal, freshly prepared in the stylish surroundings of The Fresh Approach Restaurant.
