The Dolphin is set to make a splash for East Cheshire Hospice #Blog

The Dolphin, Macclesfield, is hoping to make a splash this Sunday at its annual street party in aid of East Cheshire Hospice.

The traditional pub, which received a significant refurbishment from Robinsons Brewery last year, will curate a family fair featuring numerous bric-a-brac stalls alongside live music from The Miller Band, Matty Torr and Martin Boulton.

The day has already attracted the attention of local businesses who have helped by donating to the cause.

Beverley Lythaby, licensee of the Dolphin, said: “Local businesses have really helped out by providing prizes for the tombola and, in some cases, actual donations towards our final total! It’s been great and really shows the community spirit of Macclesfield.”

Beverley hopes this year’s party will be bigger and better than ever as they strive to beat last year’s total of £1400 and provide further funding to the hospice.

“The work that East Cheshire Hospice do cannot be understated” said Beverley. “They provide comfort and support during an extremely difficult time for patients and their families. They are not fully NHS funded and only receive 20% of their running costs from the Government so any donations that they receive really help to continue their important work. I hope we can do them proud!”

The street party will take place on Sunday 27th July from 2pm at The Dolphin on Windmill Street, SK11 7HS.
