Six dates of collaboration with The Chef’s Table and Covino #Blog

11th December 2017

The wonderful Chef’s Table may be closing briefly in the New Year but that hasn’t stopped them from creating a wonderful series of popup events alongside their fantastic wine supplier Covino.

Between January 22 and February 8, the Chester-based restaurant will be closed as they revive and reinvent themselves but fear not…

The team at the Chef’s Table and Covino will be hosting a number of limited place seatings which will combine all their creative passions under one roof at Covino’s independent wine bar and shop.

The six days of themed seven course menus include something for everyone and include a matinee sitting which begins at 2pm and dinner sitting which gets underway at 7.30pm…

Thursday 25th January – Burns Night (Starting with Cock-A-Leekie soup, you’ll then move onto a delicious smoked salmon, before two separate Haggis dishes and two raspberry desserts; a sabayon and a cranachan).

Friday 26th January – French Night (The French evening kicks off with a French onion soup, before you’ll sample the delights of snails, crispy frogs legs, halibut, mussels and a fantastic Coq au Vin. You’ll then endulge in a selection of ripe French cheeses, Crepe Suzette and finish with delicious poached pears).

Saturday 27th January – Italian Night (Ciao! Italian night starts with fabulous Arancini, before you’ll enjoy the Italian delights of Burrata, Ravioli, Lasagne, Rossini, Affogato and meringue).

Friday 2nd February – Game Night (Love game? This is the night for you! Enjoy hare, quail, partridge, venison, juniper and pheasant egg).

Saturday 3rd February – Japanese Night (After getting Japanese night started with prawns and mackerel sashimi, you’ll then enjoy three different pork dishes, before short ribs and the traditional Yuzu).

Sunday 4th February – Vegan Night (The final night is Vegan night and what a treat! Tuck into watermelon, blood orange with beetroot jelly and spiced pecan, Black garlic with shiitake and crispy enoki, Apple blossom, kohlrabi, pomegranate and cucumber, a fantastic curry, rhubarb and finish with a beautiful fruit cocktail).

Each of those menus will be produced by chef Liam McKay and his team, while they will all be accompanied by a matching wine flight, selected by Chris from Covino.

You can keep up to date with all the latest news on these fantastic events on The Chef’s Table’s Facebook and Twitter pages.
