We are delighted to welcome The Wine School of Cheshire to our Taste Cheshire family!

With a wealth of expertise in the wine industry that spans more than 27 years, The Wine School of Cheshire is the go-to place in Cheshire for wine knowledge and fantastic wine tasting events.

Whether you’re a novice or somewhat of a wine aficionado, you’ll get an extremely warm welcome at all of the fantastic events put on by founder Richard Smith and his team.

Ranging from exclusive evenings with canapés, to intimate afternoons with a four-course lunch, you’ll enjoy wine and food pairing at its very best in a relaxed and extremely informal environment.

The events take place at premium venues in Cheshire including Restaurant 1539 at Chester Racecourse and The Chester Grosvenor, as well as in Alderley Edge, Knutsford and Macclesfield.

Once at the event there is no pressure to buy any wine afterwards, with Richard and his team not selling wine. Instead they choose wines that you can find locally and at prices that will not break the bank.

Event host Richard graduated from Norwich Hotel School and further trained at the world-renowned Lanesborough Hotel on Hyde Park Corner, London: a former winner of Best Hotel in the World from Condé Nast. Richard also enjoyed several years at London’s Savoy Group and Four Seasons-Regent Hotels. He is proud to include several members of the British Royal Family as well as international heads of state and a host of top celebrities among his clients.

Richard has worked with a number of organisations assisting with training and he writes the wine column for The Taster Magazine: the alternative magazine for sustainable, ethical & organic food and drink. This fantastic publication is distributed throughout the UK every quarter and is available at the cookery schools of Pru Leith, Raymond Blanc and Michel Roux Junior.

Richard  has recently featured in The Daily Mail and Cheshire Life Magazine and is very proud to have most recently appeared at Three Wine Men in Manchester alongside TV wine legends Oz Clarke, Olly Smith and Tim Atkin MW.
