pieOver the last 12 months the George & Dragon in Holmes Chapel has raised over £2,000 for the Joshua Tree Children’s Charity.

The Joshua Tree support families of children with cancer with counselling, practical and therapeutic help to make sure that life remains as normal as possible for any family going through this life changing experience.  Eventually, they hope to build a Holiday Home for families of children with cancer so that they can escape the confines of treatment and spend much needed quality time together as a family in a safe enjoyable environment.

The George & Dragon has raised money through various events in the pub including a Family Garden Party and extravagant Casino Night.  Most recently, to celebrate National Pie Week they created a special pie menu and over the week served nearly 200 pies with 50p of each one being donated to the charity.

The next big charity event at the George & Dragon is their Family Garden Party to be held on Sunday 24th May.
