The Spring sunshine has arrived and it’s time to clean off your barbecue because this week at the butchery we’ve stocked our counters with the very best meat for you to cook outdoors. Already popular are the lamb koftas with their chilli, Indian spices and mixed fruit, and we’ve also got chicken and rump steak kebabs. Our lamb, mint and rosemary burgers and barbecue glazed pork ribs are also hot favourites, and all are made here, by hand, by our expert team of butchers. If you are gluten free, we’ve got burgers and sausages for you too. Meat -of course- is already gluten free, it’s the seasoning that goes into it that is specifically free of gluten. And don’t miss our Sausage Competition. Suggest a new flavour of sausage and you could win a personal sausage-making class at our butchery for you and a friend, as well as get to take home a kilo of the sausages themselves. All the details are here.We have some new additions to our extensive range of locally brewed beer which will make the perfect accompaniment to your barbecue this weekend. Though relatively new, Heavy Industry Brewing micro brewery in Henllan, Denbighshire, has already achieved great things. In 2013 their Collaborator beer was voted CAMRA’s supreme champion beer of North Wales which -with tough local competition- was no mean feat. Heavy Industry Brewing consists of husband and wife team Josephine Wynne-Eyton and Tom McNeill. Their mission is to produce tasty beers as a real alternative to mass market beers, and they’ve well and truly achieved it. They launched quietly and predominantly to local pubs back in 2012, but now find themselves served in the best pubs up and down the country. So look out for the bottled versions of cask favourites Nelson’s Eye, Freak Chick, 77 and of course the award-winning Collaborator at the end of The Farm Shop Food Hall, with all our other local beers.
And be sure to make the most of the final weekend of our Helter Skelter, which is with us until Sunday. The best plan this weekend is probably to treat yourself to a slice of our famous Bara Brith cake and a cup of the very best coffee whilst your children entertain themselves playing on the fort and with limitless free rides on the Helter Skelter. When the sun is out our Nature Trail really comes into its own, just ask inside for our questionnaire and scavenger hunt instructions. All in all it’s about a mile long and takes about 40 minutes, and don’t worry, it’s sign-posted, so you can’t get lost! |
