The team that brought Polo Fest to Chester Lakes, Dodleston in 2018 have joined forces with Taste Cheshire to create a very special celebration of Chester later this year – Deva Fest will take place on the 6th to the 8th September.
Taste Cheshire CEO, Stephen Wundke said he was delighted to be involved as he explains “We attended Polo Fest as a visitor and loved the event so when we were approached by the promoter to help widen the festival’s appeal and grow the event it really was a simple decision. We have such an exciting event planned and we all agreed that Chester needed a chance to let its hair down with a cracking three-day party and that is exactly what we are bringing to Chester Lakes. Deva Fest will be a party of music, food and drink, Roman Gladiators, parades, fairground rides and lots of fun for every member of the family. We can’t wait to bring it all to life”
We Love Good Times Founder, Izzy Grey is also one of the organisers and is excited about the new collaboration. Izzy said “Stephen and his team have brought us so many events over the years, with not just The Food and Drink Festival, but Chestival and so many amazing experiences so it is a perfect fit to grow Deva Fest into a major regional event.”
“Deva Fest starts on Friday evening with a celebration of Chester. Some local legends will be taking to the stage to kick things off with a real party night.”
“Saturday will be a day of fun and colour as we celebrate Carnival Day, with processions, shows and some amazing entertainment. Sunday will give guests the chance to go back to the Old School with some iconic and classic dance with a few surprises along the way. I am so excited, the imagery we have created is superb and I can’t wait to reveal the rest of our programme” said Izzy.
Details of who is performing will be announced over the coming weeks, but the event will feature local chefs demonstrating during the day, food stands, Roman Gladiator fights, parades, colour and so much fun for all of the family.
Deva Fest will feature so many of the aspects which made Polo Fest such a great event for all those who attended – fairground rides will be included in the entrance price and a shuttle bus will again run to bring festival goers in from Chester railway station.
Phil Marston, the principal Organiser is currently in discussion with some big names so that the event can really make a mark on the Chester party calendar. “We think we have found groups of artists who will be able to provide a unique blend of entertainment with something for everyone of every age and musical taste, as well as so many different experiences. There will be over 70 different food and drink offers, local chefs cooking, and Paul Harstone is bringing a fabulous Roman experience on site. We will be offering on-site camping as well and facilities for camper vans and caravans, as we think a lot of people from further afield, as well as locals, will want to come and experience this very special Chester Party weekend”
Ticket prices will be announced soon.
