Christmas is coming and Chester is ready!! There’s a whole host of festive activities incoming, so don’t miss out this Christmastime on fun activities and events for the whole family.

We have pulled together some of the highlights for you, don’t forget to tag us in your pictures on social media and of course, we always want to see your Cheshire Christmas Food!

Chester Christmas Market

November 18 – December 22 – FREE

Experience the Chester Christmas Market in the heart of the city!* Traditional wooden chalets surrounding the iconic sparkling tree, discover unique, locally made produce and with handmade crafts, jewellery, accessories and stocking fillers. You’re sure to find the perfect presents at the market and acorss Chester high street and rows.

Pair your trip to the Christmas Market with some shopping on the high street. Click here to see a list of shops with extended hours this festive season.

Chester Christmas Market is open seven days a week and is located in the city’s beautiful Town Hall Square opposite Chester Cathedral.

Sunday to Wednesday 10.30am to 6.30pm
Thursday, Friday & Saturday 10.30am to 8pm

Festive Bar & Music at the Storyhouse

November 19, 2021 – January 1, 2022 – FREE

Head to Chester’s iconic Storyhouse for mulled wine, spiced apple and roast chestnuts outside within throwing distance of Chester’s Christmas Market.

Saturday 12pm-8pm

Choirs and Musica are part of the Christmas & New Year program at Storyhouse

Santa’s Enchanted Grotto

November 26 – December 24

£5 – £10 

Experience Santa’s Enchanted Grotto this Christmas!

With surprises around every corner, you’ll be immersed in a magical journey though a wintry woodland. Follow the path to discover Santa’s Grotto where you’ll have an unforgettable visit with the big guy himself.

Chester Cathedral Christmas Tree Festival

 

November 27, 2021 at 10:00 am – January 4, 2022 at 5:00 pm

Chester Cathedral Christmas Tree Festival
This delightful family event has over 50 Christmas trees each decorated with unique baubles and handmade ornaments that sparkle and shimmer.

Location: Chester Cathedral
Time: Saturday 27 November to Tuesday 4 January 2022.
Cost: FREE, donations welcome

Lanterns Parade

December 2 at 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Lanterns light up Chester city centre alongside the Queen of Light puppet joined by school children carrying their own handmade lanterns.

Location: Parade beings at Town Hall and loops through the City. See Route Map Here.
Time: 7:00pm
Cost: FREE
