Yes, that’s right, Posh Pickles of Frodsham has just won silver Medal at the recently held World Hot Sauce Awards in Lafeyette, Louisianna . A simply amazing achievement with Sauces and relishes entered from 15 countries across the Globe.
Their winning relish is called Sa Va Turong ot and is a Vietnamese relish that owner Steph Bath came up with after living out there for a year. It’s full of Vietnamese flavours such as lemongrass, chilli and lime and has been reviewed by a number of bloggers who have come up with great recipes using the relish and of course this flavour is now internationally recognised.
Steph is constantly trying out new flavours from her kitchens in Frodsham as she explains “We make unique, creative chutney, relish, sauce and jam by hand in small batch open preserving pans and are based in Frodsham.
All our products are made using natural, top quality ingredients and we try to buy locally at all times. We sell online and at various deli’s and specialty food retailers in the North West and are passionate about great tasting foods. This award is recognition of all the hard work and effort we put in and we are so excited. We managed to watch the judging live over the internet through streaming and when they announced us as the Silver award winner we were elated.
Many people know that having undergone serious kidney problem some years ago I am still on home dialysis but am able to work making our products and selling at food fairs. It’s a lot of effort after six hours on dialysis but awards like this really make it worthwhile.”
