Knutsford-based independent wine merchants Morgan Edwards held their first launch party to celebrate a month since their move to historic King Street in Knutsford.

Fellow business owners, local press and influencers enjoyed an informal tour of the impressive Grade II listed building and its extensive wine collections whilst enjoying a celebratory glass of fizz.

Morgan Ward said, “We had a wonderful time. It was lovely to chat with our guests about our wines, plans and the backstory of how we converted what is one of the oldest buildings in the town from a hair salon to wine merchants. The evening also attracted passers-by who popped in to enjoy a glass of wine upstairs.”

Edward Speakman said, “The first month has gone extremely well and we are enjoying our new prominent position in the heart of Knutsford. Although our focus will always be sourcing high-quality and unusual wines for our customers to take home, our new premises gives us the flexibility to be a wine bar and host events and collaborations. We open until 7pm Monday-Thursday to allow people to enjoy a glass of wine after work and till 10pm Friday and Saturday for that pre or post-dinner tipple. Our first tasting event is on September 14th and focuses on the Wines of France. However, we also specialise in vintage port, and stock whiskey, gin and cigars so please pop in!”

Alongside the shop, Morgan Edwards also offers an extremely popular wine club. Members can opt for monthly or bimonthly deliveries and red, white, or mixed cases. The pair create detailed tasting notes for each bottle before delivering the case to members’ homes.

To attend the Wines of France event, other future events or join the wine club, contact Morgan Edwards via their website www.morganedwards.co.uk or social media or visit them at 88 King Street, Knutsford, WA16 6ED.
