Due to its popularity last year this event returns to the Farm at Tatton Park on 8 and 9 June to celebrate all that was great from the 1940s and 50s. This is timely as on 6 June we mark a special historic anniversary, as Jayne Chapman, Farm Manager, explains “Our Vintage & Victory weekend is especially exciting this year as the UK celebrates 80 years since D Day, so what could be better than joining us to step back in time and remember Tatton in its wartime years. This was the place where the canopies of British parachute troops opened for the first time, heralding the birth of Britain’s Airborne forces. Our tractor and trailer rides during this weekend are a great opportunity to visit the war memorial within the parkland honouring those forces.”

Keep calm and carry on down to the Farm!

Meet costumed characters bringing to life Churchill and the Home Guard and listen to their stories of wartime Britain. Make do and mend with the Land Army girls, and help with their daily chores, potato riddling, butter making and cleaning harnesses. Check out the vintage vehicles on display and find out how the Farm workers at Tatton Dale survived during rationing.

Put on your glad rags and do the Lindy Hop…

Soak up the atmosphere as the lambing shed is transformed into a party barn with live music for all ages from talented 1940s singer, Rachel Mercer, as well as local choirs, Knutsford Star and Knutsford Beats. There are vintage stalls and refreshments to browse while reminiscing with classic songs of the period. The end of May marks ‘World Lindy Hop Day’ so why not come along to learn this fun dance and make it a weekend never to be forgotten?
