London’s Borough Market is legendary. It is the busiest and largest produce market in London as well as being one of the oldest.

Taste Cheshire is extremely privileged and honoured to be working with Marketing Cheshire this week, to bring a Taste of Cheshire to London.

Visitors to the Cheshire showcase at Borough will be given a new illustrated food map  by Marketing Cheshire to encourage them to visit the county on a self-guided tour and explore some of the best places to try produce, grown, reared and made in Cheshire, as well as recommendable cafes, pubs and restaurants, farm shops and delicatessens, foodie experiences, farmers’ markets and accommodation.

Through a long and complex selection process, we are pleased to be showcasing alongside the following amazing products : –

FRUITS OF THE FORAGE

This amazing company gather fruit from abandoned Orchards and combine these with wild foraged plants from the Cheshire Countryside to create their products. Their headquarters are in Macclesfield Cheshire and they hold foraging events and supper clubs across Cheshire. The owner/operators are also from Cheshire originally.

Taste the amazing flavours to be found in the wild and discover how to gather and cook them. Spreading the love of foraging & helping people to nurture nature.

LOVE LANE BREWERY

Founded by Cheshire Born and Bred owner/operator Steve Crawley. The recipe for their beer is a Cheshire recipe, using Cheshire hops and water. Their brewery shelves are filled with Cheshire sourced ingredients they use to experiment and innovate their new beer recipes.

Sharing the love of beer to a new generation of beer drinkers.

FOREST GIN

The Forest Distillery is a unique 17th century barn, nestled 1,200ft above sea level within the beautiful Macclesfield Forest in the Peak District National Park.

The Bond family and a small team of “Cheshire weasels” daily distil spirits of the very highest quality. They predominately use organic and foraged ingredients where possible in their products, and all water used in the process comes from their own cool, clear natural spring.

They forage for ingredients regularly in the Forest and we always do their very best to ensure that these fresh, natural flavours come through to your glass.

MORNFLAKE

Opened their first-ever mill over 340 years ago in South Cheshire – the place they are still proud to call home today. Ever since, they’ve been dedicated to helping Britain wake up to a better-quality breakfast each and every morning.

Proud to have created a range of delicious oat products that show off the mighty grain in all its glory, from the creamiest porridge to the crispiest muesli and crunchiest granola. Some of these products are over 300 years in the making, so we hope you’ll agree they were worth the wait.

HAUGHTON HONEY

Were born out of a nation’s growing appetite for pure, natural foods and honey is the food that they love and live for.

Celebrating English bee farmers, Haughton Honey comes from the meadows, trees, farmland and gardens across the Cheshire countryside.

A family run company from Cheshire who supply honey monsters with 100% raw English honey. Feel the buzz!

CHESHIRE CHUTNEY COMPANY

Have been making their handmade range since 2011, using traditional methods, recipes old and new, together with a passion for good tasty food.

They started following requests from customers at Nick & Jill’s Café, for the Handmade Drizzle, Jam and Chutney used on the menu. The sales of these initial products proved so popular, that Nick took to the kitchen to produce a wider range to retail and Cheshire Chutney Co was born.

Since then the range has changed and expanded through customer demand and Nicks constant search for tasty combinations.

The butchery comfortably caters for up to 12 delegates, and is used for both scale-up development, as well as skills training – with courses on basic knife skills through to preparation and counter standard.

CARDEN PARK HOTEL

Produce on show will include sparkling white and rosé wines produced at the three-acre vineyard at Carden Park.  Carden Park Hotel truly is Cheshire’s Country Estate. Set in a beautiful 1000 acre location in Cheshire, a mile long drive leads you through the championship Nicklaus golf course to the hotel entrance.

The vineyard at Carden Park is well known as Cheshire’s largest commercial vineyard. Its story dates back to 1988 when the majority of vines were planted. In 2008 the‚ 4,000 vines were reinstated at the estate and much care was taken to grow them to their former glory.

Now, after hard work and much nurturing, the three acre vineyard is able to produce up to 6,000 bottles of Carden Park Estate Reserve sparkling wine each year from the two grape varieties grown, Seyval Blanc and Pinot Noir.
