Augusto Pizzeria on Northgate Street is bringing a new taste of Turin to Chester with the launch of their upgraded, authentic pizza menu inspired by the changing season.
Created by the team behind Bridge Street’s Michelin Plate holding restaurant, Da Noi, Augusto Pizzeria has caused a stir in the Chester food scene with their authentic Italian pizzas. Prepared using only the freshest ingredients and local produce where possible, their new upgraded menu will feature the classics, along with a selection of pizzas with exciting new flavours. Guests can pair their dishes with an extensive Italian wine and beer list, carefully tried, tested, and paired by owner Fabrizio Gobbato.
Inspired by the Neapolitan and Turin style pizzas found in Italy, the pizzas now have additions of mushrooms, spicy salami and PDO smoked scamorza to bring them into the season. The chef’s specials now include a Norvegese with smoked salmon, Amatriciana served with PDO Pecorino (Italian cured meats and Italian cheese), and Porchetta & Patate, with baked potatoes, rosemary and porchetta. Guest’s favourite pizzas are still available for everyone to enjoy including Augusto’s famous carbonara.
The new menu also welcomes olive all’ascolana, deep fried meat filled olives, calamari and an Italian platter with a mix of Italian cured meats and cheeses as a starter. The summery rocket salad and caprese, have been replaced with a mixed salad, filled with walnuts, pears and PDO Fontina.
As for the dessert menu, even the popular Nutella calzone has had an upgrade with the addition of pear. From the kitchens of Da Noi, guests at Augusto can pick a bunet (v); a historical dessert from Turin that has been on the Da Noi menu since they opened the doors. Giving guests a taste of Da Noi’s skill, it has a base of chocolate and Amaretti biscuits.
Augusto’s aim has always been to make guests feel as if they are in the streets of Italy. Owners Fabrizio and Valentina have worked hard to build a great team, with chefs Giuseppe and Karol working hard to create dishes that everyone will love and bringing their own unique flair to Augusto’s kitchen.
