Pop the cork and raise a glass to Cheshire! Carden Park Hotel’s very own 2021 Seyval Blanc Sparkling White Wine has just earned a prestigious Silver Medal at the Independent English Wine Awards (IEWA).

This recognition is a testament to the dedication and expertise of the team at Carden Park. The IEWA judges, renowned for their blind evaluations based on international quality standards, praised the wine for its “distinctive and summery” character, highlighting its balanced acidity and delightful orchard fruit notes.

But the award goes beyond just a single bottle. The Seyval Blanc is a shining example of Carden Park’s commitment to excellence in winemaking. As home to the largest commercial vineyard in Cheshire, spanning a sprawling three acres on the estate, Carden Park is actively contributing to the exciting world of English sparkling wine.

Did you know that Carden Park’s award-winning vineyard can produce up to 10,000 bottles of their Carden Park Estate Reserve sparkling wine annually? This delightful bubbly is crafted using two grape varieties – Seyval Blanc and Pinot Noir – and is produced in collaboration with Halfpenny Green Winemakers of South Staffordshire.

“We are thrilled to see our Seyval Blanc Sparkling White Wine receive such esteemed recognition,” shared Hamish Ferguson, Director and General Manager at Carden. “It’s been a favourite amongst our guests for quite some time now.” He went on to express his pride in how Carden Park’s wine is contributing to the growing popularity of English sparkling wine.

For Restaurant Manager Iulian Ion at The Vines at Carden Park Hotel, this award is a celebration of meticulous work. “The entire process of creating sparkling wine is very technical and labour-intensive,” he explained. “So, we’re delighted that the dedication and effort put in by our team have been recognized!”
