As the sun sets over the Cheshire fields, stroll down the festooned walkway to the lake, to mingle with friends, cocktails and live music. Take your place in a luxury see-through marquee with breathtaking views of the lake. An end-of-summer, seasonal dining experience to celebrate all things Cheshire.
This astounding collaborative event sees The Chef’s Table working with more than 20 Chester and Cheshire food producers. Chef’s Table Events, the catering arm of the highly-regarded Chester city centre restaurant will introduce their distinctive menu, highlighting the suppliers and culinary twists they’ve added to each dish.
Over several hours, you’ll celebrate the summer season with six unforgettable courses and thoughtfully paired drinks. Cheshire is brimming with an array of local growers and suppliers – and each course is expertly crafted to showcase our local summer harvest.
Taking inspiration from their unfailingly creative menus, one of the dishes described simply as ‘Smoky’, comprises Cheshire Smokehouse smoked salmon, with Christleton Orchard Range creamed egg, Cheshire Saffron Company saffron, and Malpas anise hyssop, paired with a glass of English Sparkling wine. Another course showcases the sweeter producers, featuring Haughton Honey cake, fresh honeycomb and Field 28 lemon verbena, with a sticky sherry drinks pairing.
Suppliers at the Delamere event include: Growing Field 28, Veg and Petals, Wirral Watercress, Haughton Honey, Cheshire Saffron, Callum Edge Butchers, Christleton Orchard Eggs, Cheshire Smoke House, The Cheese Shop, 9 Meals of Anarchy, Frances Thomas Community Farm Shop, Cheshire Pumpkins.
Tom Hughes, co-owner of The Chef’s Table said, “We’re really chuffed so many producers and suppliers have agreed to work with us collaboratively, to showcase the best Cheshire has to offer. This event is just as much about each of the individual producers, as it is for the team here at Chef’s Table Events. We’re simply using our reputation to give other local businesses a platform to get noticed. At the event we’ll make sure every producer is given credit for their contribution to each dish, and staff will be available to discuss the provenance of each ingredient with guests.
After the tickets for our pop-up event in Chester Zoo sold out in 10 hours flat, we know if we create something really unique and high quality, people will want to come. That’s what we’ve done here too.”
For two nights in September, join them on the shores of Cherry Orchard Lake situated on the edge of Delamere Forest in the heart of rural Cheshire, for an evening of culinary discovery.
Ryan Cartwright, owner of Delamere Events adds, “Hosting an event so focused on promoting other local organisations is heartwarming, and aligns with our ethos of supporting business partners across Cheshire. We’re just adding the finishing touches to the event – gazing at the stars from the see-through marquee will be a stunning experience – and we can’t wait to see the final results at the end of September!”
The evening will also feature local talent Me & Deboe, an award-winning folk band with percussive riffs and a distinctly original sound.
