Cheshire remains a place of Great Taste in 2020 #Blog

It seems our hospitality industry faces never ending challenges at the moment. With the regular rule changes, new curfews, mask and track and trace rules to monitor, the battle continues for our venues to remain open and maintain both the quality and atmosphere that we are so proud of here in Cheshire. I am happy to report that for the most part, they are surviving and continuing to inspire and delight us with their creativity and their phenomenal food.

Taste Cheshire remain committed to helping out as best we can. We are featuring lunch deals, afternoon tea offerings, early bird deals and take away and taste at home features.

We will be talking; at home cocktails, tea recipes, gin tastings and whiskey tastings all from the safety and comfort of your own home. We can’t wait to bring you new recipes to try and cheeky offers worth popping out of your home office for.

We only ask for your support at this time. Be sensible, take care and follow the rules, the sooner we do, the sooner things can start to relax again. A little temporary pain for a real long term gain. The teams behind these venues are working so hard and its only fair that we reward that effort with a little of our own.

The phrase, we are all in this together has never been more accurate.

On the flip side, of all this bad news, we are so proud to report recent successes for our Taste Cheshire local producers in the Great Taste Awards 2020.

Three Gold Stars for Bloomsbury Blend from Lost Barn Coffee Roasters and one star for their Ethiopia Yirgacheffe

Two Gold Stars for not one, not two but three of the flours from Nelstrops, for their Multiseed and Flake flour, Maltflake flour & Traditional Strong White Flours

Two Gold Stars for GreatDrams Blended Cask Series Batch 03 and One Star for GreatDrams Glentauchers 10 Year Old Sincle Cask Single Malt Scotch Whisky

A Gold star for not one, not two but three Mrs Darlington’s products, Lemon Curd,  Spicy Tomato and Sticky Onion Chutney, Ploughman’s Pickle No.7

So there you have it, Cheshire remains a place of Great Taste and we believe real strength and innovation.

We look forward to more wonderful Tastes of Cheshire both at home and at our fantastic  local venues.
