Fuelled by three generations of cheese-making knowledge, Cheshire’s Eatlean cheese boasts 90% less fat, 45% more protein and 50% less calories than standard cheddar.
Using only the best ingredients, sourcing milk from local, Red Tractor-assured farmers to ensure the highest quality produce.
Crewe and Nantwich MP Kieran Mullan visited Eatlean at Joseph Heler Cheese this week, (Wednesday 28 July), touring the site with Eatlean founder George Heler.
As well as discussing the Nantwich cheese-maker’s growth both domestically and internationally, the pair also covered a number of key issues within the food sector.
George Heler said: “Today was a great opportunity to meet Kieran and show him around our site. Over the last three years, we have invested in excess of £10 million into our facilities, improving product quality and consistency, reducing manual handling, and upgrading infrastructure to drive sustainability. We are committed to driving revenues and growth in the local area.
“Now is the time for action around health and Kieran very much understood the potential of Eatlean in supporting government health targets.
“Health is our number one priority. Together with Kieran, we looked at how we could build our ambition to be part of the solution and change societal behaviours.
“In terms of next steps, we will now be looking to engage at a local and national level to help drive health initiatives.”
Crewe and Nantwich MP Kieran Mullan said: “Joseph Heler Cheese is another local business that Crewe and Nantwich can be proud of. Three generations of dedication and know how have given my constituents opportunities for work and generated millions of pounds of investment into the local area.
“It was great to hear from George about all the hard work that has gone into Eatlean so they can be a positive part of the conversation we are having about health and diet. COVID has made us all think about what more we can do to be a healthier nation and its clear this is a company that wants to play its part.”
Eatlean is sold across all channels of the UK market, internationally and via e-commerce with e-commerce sales increasing 200% in the last financial year.
