Taste Cheshire is excited to report the return of Whitmore & White to Chester, in the form of Christmas pop up in their former premises.
Returning to “Chester’s Diagon Alley”, Godstall Lane for a limited period, Whitmore & White, the fabulous deli and wine merchants are thrilled to say they are reopening their shop.
The Christmas pop-up shop opens on Thursday 21st November and as well as the food and drink, they will focus on Christmas Hampers and gifts, including being able to create your own bespoke hamper in store.
The shop will be open Thursday to Saturday all the way up to Christmas. As for opening hours in the New Year… well we’ll see (and hope!)
Whitmore & White stock a properly interesting collection of wine, beer and spirits from smaller independent wineries breweries and distilleries, They also carry food imported themselves from continental Europe as well as working with lots of local food producers from Cheshire and North Wales.
We adore Whitmore & White for their knowledge loaded staff who are always happy to help you make exactly the right wine choice and there is no more important time of year for this decision.
Which wine for Christmas Day? Which Fizz for New Years Eve? What foodie gift is perfect for awkward Aunt Gladys?
Whitmore & White will know.
Does your business need Christmas gifts for its clients or customers? – It’s not too late to order your hampers, gift boxes and wine from Whitmore & White!! They have a fantastic range of Christmas gifts, or they can create something bespoke just for you.
When asked, Jamie Moore of Whitmore & White said,
“We can’t wait to be back open again in Chester, even if it is just for Christmas. We keep saying that if we can get some momentum behind us we’ll consider staying open into the New Year. We’re the first to admit that we found Chester very hard to master the first time round, so we’re under no illusions as to how difficult it is to get the word out, particularly being tucked away on one of Chester’s oldest streets! But we’re well worth a visit if you’re looking for really good wine that won’t break the bank, or anything unusual or hard to find on the foodie front. If you’ve visited out other shops in Frodsham or Heswall, you’ll know what we’re all about, but if not, come and see! We weren’t crowned Cheshire’s Best Deli two years running by accident!”
If you don’t know where it is, Godstall Lane can be accessed either from St Werburgh’s Street by Chester Cathedral, or from the other end from the upper rows on Eastgate Street.
As you pass it, you could visit The Knife Angel at Chester Cathedral, and after selecting your goodies from Whitmore & White you could pop for some food or cocktails at The Botanist, Chester
Whatever your Christmas plans, make sure you include this Christmas Pop up shop, for the perfect Christmas presents.
OUR FOOD HALL is the ultimate home of foodie delight and wonder! We explore the world of food and drink and bring it all together so that you can do the same.
