Crêpeaffaire comes to Chester #Blog

Hands up if you associate crepes with chocolate sauce, syrup and other tasty treats. I know I’m guilty.
That’s why, when I was invited to Chester’s latest foodie addition to Bridge Street, I was a little apprehensive, as I’m currently trying to lose weight but alas, it’s my job, and someone has to do it!
I was wrong though, Crêpeaffaire has a diverse menu containing both sweet and savoury dishes. Yes, they have treats such as Ferrero Rocher, Salted Caramel and Popcorn, Oreo, Nutella – but you can also choose crepes containing Super Veg or Salmon and cream cheese if you’d like. They also cater well for dietary requirements with both gluten free and vegan buckwheat crepes!
Crêpeaffaire is clean cut, modern and well staffed. The serving counter is brimming with a bounty of healthy and fresh foodstuff. I love the theatre of crepe making – there is something mesmerising when the crepe is swirled around the hotplate and it was pleasing that it was on view.
On to the food – I opted for the Mexican chicken which was stuffed with marinated chicken, quinoa, pulses, grains, salsa, sour cream, chilli and cheese. Oh and a side salad!It was spicy, vibrant and filling but it also felt healthy with the addition of quinoa, pulses and grains. The side salad was fresh and crisp.
The thing I like about Crêpeaffaire is that there is something for everyone; great breakfast selection, healthy lunch options and of course decadent waffles and crepes!
