Planet Doughnut are delighted to be expanding into Chester after running successful doorstep deliveries and building a following with the amazing Taste Cheshire and Makers markets over the past two years.  The store in Frodsham street opened today and they have had people queuing round the block since 6am to get their hands on the opening offers.

We, having tried their doughnuts are not at all surprised! 

The delightful Duncan McGregor, founder and Director of Planet Doughnut said,  “We’ve also been overwhelmed with the positive response from customers and retailers alike, with M&S treating us to a Colin the Caterpillar ( we are definitely his side of the fence now – Sorry Cuthbert) and Lush treat the shop to an amazing gift set.”

Planet Doughnut Chester will be open 7 days a week selling classic and vegan doughnuts, fresh coffee from Iron and Fire and handcrafted milkshakes.

They have also teamed up with local delivery company Zoom to get their doughnuts delivered around Chester within the hour.

A bit about Planet Doughnut….

Planet Doughnut was established in 2017 from a home kitchen in Shrewsbury, where they were making doughnuts from Duncan’s wife’s Nan’s jam pan.  They grew in popularity quite quickly and converted the garage into a small bakery.

When they opened their first shop in Shrewsbury they had to upgrade to a proper bakery in Shrewsbury, and in the past 3 years have managed another move to a custom built bakery to meet demand for their stunning handcrafted doughnuts.

Duncan says, “We’ve been lucky in the fact we’ve been able to adapt and deliver our doughnuts all over Shropshire and Cheshire which has kept us going and starting to supply retailers and farm shops in the same area.  Demand for our doughnuts has never been better and with our Shrewsbury shop still open we’ve seen queues down the street in all weathers (socially distanced of course)”
