Established Cheshire butcher launches artisan craft meat service #Blog

Chester UK, 19th October 2020 – With almost two decades of butchering experience and owning of one of the most respected and long-standing independent butchers in Cheshire, Joe Farmer has brought together his team of highly skilled butchers to create Raw & Rare; delivering gourmet craft meats to the whole of the UK.

Based in Chester, The Raw & Rare Meat Co is an online artisan food delivery service, offering made to order, hand butchered meat products, working with carefully selected, locally based farmers to deliver a fine dining experience at home.

“For us, this is the next step,” Farmer said. “I’ve worked with a lot of the top-end restaurants here in Cheshire so for me, being able to bring the care and skill that is needed to create that level of product to a national audience with Raw & Rare is incredibly exciting.”

While the idea for Raw & Rare has been in the works for many years, the challenges of the pandemic have lead to its Chester facility implementing a bespoke floor layout to insure the growing team can work safely now and going forward. This includes specially crafted individual and socially distanced workspace for all R&R’s butchers.

Farmer continued: “Of course it was a risk putting the plan for Raw & Rare into motion during the pandemic, however it’s given us more reason than ever to move into a bespoke delivery service. One of our primary goal has always been to expand and to give traditional butchers a platform to ply their trade.”
