Description

The famous French regions of Burgundy and Bordeaux produce some of the world’s most expensive wines and arguably many of the finest on the planet. There are also many incredibly good quality more affordable wines from these regions too.

If you’d like to learn a little more, discover some wonderful wines and enjoy an entertaining afternoon out, join us join us for lunch with paired wines in The Tasting Room in Godstall Lane: our very own home of all things wine in the heart of Chester city centre, just moments from Chester Cathedral and The Rows. A four course lunch is included to enjoy food and wine pairing to the full. The principal courses are provided by Chester institution and our amazing neighbour, Dutton’s. Then there are British artisan cheeses from The Cheese Shop, Chester paired with our final red wines.

What to expect from your afternoon out at wine school:

  • 12:30 Arrivals and introductions with a glass of Crémant to welcome you. Learn more about Crémant, the permitted grapes for Crémant in Burgundy and Bordeaux and how Crémant is made.
  • 12:50 An introduction to food and wine pairing.
  • 13:00 Lunch: a different quality wine chosen to match each of the first three courses. (select the menu bar below to read your menu for the day)
  • 14:30 Take a breather for coffee or tea served at your table as we prepare for the afternoon red wines.
  • 14:50 Your food and wine pairing experience continues as you’ll enjoy a cheese course to try with the final two red wines.
  • We expect to finish at around 4.00pm.
