Description

Who doesn’t love Eurovision?! On this year’s final day, join us for a fun afternoon out in Chester to celebrate the best of Eurovision and wine all in one! We’ll celebrate last year’s winner, Italy, with some Franciacorta on arrival and there are wines from some amazing countries who all take part in Eurovision – we may even go rogue and include the latest participating country, Australia, too! You’ll make it home in time to watch the spectacle of the grand final with another glass or two.

You’ll receive your tasting notes book at the end of the event to take home – you’ll have a Eurovision wine score card to complete as we progress to help you choose your wine winner!

Taste some amazing wines from the famous and infamous countries of Eurovision in one fun afternoon out and if you wish, dress in the theme of your favourite Eurovision nation! Join us for lunch with paired wines in The Tasting Room in Godstall Lane: our very own home of all things wine in the heart of Chester city centre, just moments from Chester Cathedral and The Rows. You’ll enjoy an entertaining afternoon of wine education and enjoyment together with an amazing wine and food pairing experience in Chester with Cheshire wine specialist,  Richard J Smith.

A four course lunch is included to enjoy food and wine pairing to the full as each is course is perfectly paired with a different wine from around the Eurovision wine nations. The principal courses are provided by Chester institution and our amazing neighbour, Dutton’s. Then enjoy our bespoke selection of British and European artisan cheeses from esteemed cheesemonger Paxton and Whitfield paired with our final red wines – and maybe this will include another Eurovision cheese nation too!

Discover more about the exciting wine regions of six of the nations who take part in Eurovision and learn about the principal grape varieties as well as some more unusual ones, all of which represent amazing value for money, sourced from a range of local and specialist online wine retailers. Of course we don’t sell any wine at our events so your bespoke wine tasting notes book is there for you to use during the day and take home with you: a handy reference should you wish to visit any of the wine stores we’ve used at a later date.

We are proud to work in partnership with Riedel, the world’s finest wine glass manufacturer and you will enjoy your wines at this event with Riedel Performance varietal specific crystal glassware. Find out more about Riedel here.
