Prior to the opening of the Chester shop, Chip’d was known for cooking its signature chips at food and music festivals, such as Festival No. 6 in Portmeirion and The Liverpool Food and Drink Festival 2018, at which it was nominated for the ‘Street Food King’ award. Now, founder Andrew Mckechnie has brought this sophisticated and unique ‘chippy’concept to Chester, with Chipd’s first flagship store.
To celebrate the opening, the first 100 guests through the door from 12pmwill receive a free cone of the Dutch-inspired ‘twice-fried’ chips, along with a dip of choice, which includes the Netherlands’ famous ‘Frites’ sauce–a light, tangy mayo.
Founder, Andrew Mckechnie, comments: “After months of planning and refining our recipe, we’re delighted to finally be able to open our first site in Chester. It’s fantastic to be part of the city’s burgeoning independent food and drink scene and we look forward to welcoming our first guests with some complimentary chips!” Chip’d will be fully open for business on Saturday 9th February, 12pm. Opening hours will be 7 days a week 11am till 6pm and 8pm Fri & Sat
