From Biltong to Bunny Chow, South Africa boasts some of the most delicious cuisine in the world.
Inspired by those South African roots, Big 5 Sauces was born…
Head Chef and owner, Darren Andrew, who originates from South Africa, had a vision to bring a taste of his homeland to UK homes and his sauces are now available to purchase from farm shops, delis and local markets around Cheshire.
Big 5 Sauces actually started as a result of Big 5 Catering (also owned by Darren) which is a Chester based catering business which specialises in hog roasts, lamb spit roasts and South African Braais (BBQs) at a wide range of parties and events.
The sauces were originally made and served at those events but following numerous requests enquiring about where they could be purchased, the next step for Darren and his team was to produce and bottle the sauces for retail sale and with that… Big 5 Sauces was formed.
Available at stores including the Hollies Farm Shop, the Big 5 Sauces product range includes Durban Curry Sauce, Cape Malay Curry Sauce, Roast Garlic & Chilli Paste and my personal favourite, the Zingy BBQ Sauce.
Influenced by their home country, they aim to produce quality products that are fresh, unique and packed with flavours representing their diverse nation.
