The gifting season is here, and we know this year more than ever we all want to select something special, but great value for the loved ones in our lives.

Giving something made locally is extra special, not only are you gifting something great, you are supporting the local economy and putting a Christmas smile on the faces of your local producers!

Here’s a little round up of some yummy goodies, all made locally, that make great presents this Christmas.

Is there a gym lover in your life? An avid runner, a super swimmer, a determined dancer?

If sport is your thing, then nutrition is vital especially that all important protein. The Weston Biltong Company, based right here in Cheshire do excellent gift options of their home made biltong. They have ideas for Secret Santa Gifts, Stocking fillers and even gifts to satisfy the biggest Biltong Lover you can find.

Plus their Christmas multibuy discounts make their gifts great value for money. Their delivery service is also excellent with FREE SHIPPING so there’s no panic it won’t get there, and any problems…they’re straight on it. Let’s not underestimate how crucial that is at this time of year.

Their full range of gift options can be found here :  Biltong Gifts & Hampers – The Weston Biltong Company

Don’t forget that if you aren’t sure what they will  like, Weston Biltong also offer gift cards/vouchers so they can choose for themselves!

Speaking of vouchers, you can always give the gift of an experience this year with The Wine School of Cheshire vouchers. These can be tickets for a specific event, or vouchers so the recipient can select a date that suits them for one of the Wine School’s fantastic tasting evenings.  Deliver the gift of wine knowledge in style! Choose their gift box & they’ll print your wine tasting tickets and post them to you with your gift box. Your tickets are wrapped and boxed ready for you. I’m always a fan of one less thing to wrap!!

All the gifting options and the upcoming tasting dates are all here : – All wine tastings · Wine School of Cheshire

Another great voucher option for the booze lover in your life, is a  Gin Tasting & Distillery Tour Voucher for the amazing gin school at Three Wrens Gin, Combermere. The tour includes, along with a tour of the distillery, a Meet & Greet with the distiller, a welcome cocktail and no less than 6 Gin and Tonics! Great value at just £30 and valid for 12 months.

If you don’t want to send a voucher, you’d prefer to send the real deal, then Three Wrens have some gorgeous gift boxes. From mini versions of the whole range, to luxury hampers, whatever your budget, they have something for anyone who loves gin. Please buy from them directly if you can, although they are available in other places, cutting out the middle man is better for everyone!

If you want to steer clear of booze, but you still have a foodie to shop for, there are plenty of options.

I am a big fan of My spicy Blends, after all that Christmas Food, you may want to change it up for the new year and beyond and their gift sets are a great way to add bold flavours to your food. In particular I recommend their “seasonings greetings” sets. With a selection of 3 different jars of their most popular seasonings, flavoured salts, peppers and rubs, they are a brilliant way to kick off those new year’s cooking resolutions.

If you have a foodie in your life, this is a fun gift and certainly won’t break the bank. My Spicy Blends have been on local Cheshire markets for years, and my mum and I swear by them as the best place to find some of the more interesting spices and rubs. (She wanted me to add, it’s the only place she can ever find Aleppo Pepper!!).

One thing my mum and I both did last year was to order a hamper from Clotton Hall Dairy.

All over the Christmas period this was super useful, having clotted cream, custard and rice pudding, all delicious and made right here in Chester was absolutely a life saver whenever another round of desserts was required.

Delivered to our door the weekend before Christmas it was absolutely perfect and another great way to support the local economy while treating the whole family this Christmas time!

Check out their whole range here : – Cheshire Clotted Cream at Clotton Hall Dairy

Have a scroll through the producers section of our website for more inspiration, from Alcohol to cheese, from gift experiences to tours around Chester, there is so much good stuff in our fantastic county.

Happy Gifting and thanks again for shopping local.
