With so many of us stuck in isolation the team here at Taste Cheshire thought it was a good idea to put together some ideas that may help you and your local businesses through this difficult time.

This is the first in a series of blogs designed to help you with your cabin fever, you foodie needs and generally keep you in touch with the outside world.

First and foremost we are all about food, so lets start with the important things…

Food and where to get it.

Cheshire is famous for it’s fabulous farm shops and whilst you may not be able to pop in to one for a coffee and a browse we are really pleased to see that many of them are now offering home delivery services in this time of crisis.

The Lambing Shed, Knutsford are offering free home delivery on orders over £30 within 5 miles.  

The service is available on all products from their farm shop including home-reared beef and lamb,  full butchery selection, homemade pies and sausage rolls, cakes, soups, cheeses, milk, eggs, wine, beer and much more!

They also do a delightful range of homemade ready meals made by the chefs in the morning. They can be frozen , just pop straight in the oven to reheat! They use only the best local ingredients in our ready meals so they are packed full or goodness!

The Hollies Farm Shop are excited to offer a new service to their local customers, offering free delivery within a 5-mile radius of the Little Budworth store when you spend over £50.

Weetwood Ales and distillery are extending their home delivery service, which means you can enjoy a range of beers and spirits within two to three business days after you’ve placed an order. They can deliver direct to your door or leave it in a safe place if you’d prefer not to have contact with the drivers.

Weetwood’s normal shop prices apply and they don’t charge a delivery fee as long as your total order is over £40.

A case of 12 x 500ml bottles of beer costs £24 – choose from nine in range.

A case of 12 x 330ml cans of Kuhl lager costs £20.

A 70cl bottle of Weetwood Distillery London Dry Gin, Raspberry Gin, Cheshire Vodka or Demerara Rum costs £30.

Whitmore &White have decided to start delivering to the areas around the Heswall and Frodsham shops from 18th March 2020. This will be a free service.

As a small business, they don’t have the infrastructure to roll this out on any scale, so it’s just them and Walter (he’s the van) and you may have to bear with them as they work out the logistics of getting orders out to you. They will endeavour to do their best. At present they are going to do deliveries on a Thursday and Friday to get things going, but we will do more days if the demand is there. 

If something can be organised regarding loading restrictions they may add this service to their Chester store.
