This Saturday (1st May), Chester Makers Market returns to The Carriage Shed. This will be the first instalment of monthly Makers Markets, which will be taking place every first Saturday of the month for the rest of the year.
With some of North West’s finest bakers and makers descending on the city, visitors can expect gifts and goodies of every kind, from candles to cupcakes and plants to face masks, with the market championing small, independent traders and the ‘shop local’ ethos.
Watch out for appearances from Makers Market favourites Planet Doughnut and Urban Bear Co., as well as new traders for you to discover (Tip: keep an eye on Carriage Shed social media for stall announcements)!
Organisers have implemented plenty of COVID measures to ensure that all visitors can have a safe and enjoyable shopping experience in the wonderful outdoor setting of The Carriage Shed. These include a one-way system around the event, free-use sanitising stations dotted throughout site, and screening around stalls at face height.
“The Chester Makers Market has been popping up at Carriage Shed for 5 years now and we’re delighted that we’ve got these regular monthly events booked in” Said Libby Witherden, Venue Management at Carriage Shed. “The events are hugely popular so we’re expecting a good turnout. The event organisers have been delivering events throughout the pandemic and we are ensuring that all government guidelines are being adhered to, to make sure visitors feel safe on the day.”
The market is free to attend and will be open to the public from 11am – 4pm on every first Saturday of the month, starting from Saturday 1st May, with delicious hot food stalls available to grab a bite throughout the day.
The event is also dog-friendly, so grab your four-legged friends and head down for a brilliant shopping day in the open air!
