The Ice Cream Farm has donated 30 litres of ice cream to Cheshire’s Save the Family charity, as well as thousands of Play Passes to vulnerable families across the North West.
Despite currently being closed for business due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Tattenhall-based The Ice Cream Farm has donated stocks of ice cream to Save the Family to lift the spirits of the 16 families currently homed at the charity during lockdown. In addition, the family-friendly attraction has donated Play Passes to the charity, which can be used on their paid-for play activities once the site reopens.
Save the Family provides residential accommodation and support for families that are homeless (or at risk of becoming homeless) and who have multiple and complex needs. Save the Family’s aim is to empower families to overcome barriers and increase their independence with the hope that, through showing by example and creating a sense of continuity and stability, families will develop into a cohesive unit that is able to integrate successfully back into the community.
Tracy White, CEO at Save the Family comments: “We currently have 16 families on site and 26 children. Before the lockdown ends, we could be up to 20 families and 34 children who are all in need of cheering up. We can’t thank The Ice Cream Farm enough for donating some of their delicious ice cream and the fact the families now have an outing to look forward to once the restrictions end, is really special.”
As well as donating ice cream and play passes to Save the Family, The Ice Cream Farm has donated 1000 Play Passes to Hickory’s Cash for Kids campaign to raise £50k for families in
crisis. The Play Passes are being distributed with the donated meals provided by the restaurant group to vulnerable families across the North West.
Director of The Ice Cream Farm, Jonathan Fell, comments: “We may have temporarily closed our doors but we’re still thinking about all the wonderful people that have supported us over the years. Whilst many can still access treats such as ice cream, there are those who are struggling to even get basic food for their families. Whilst there is much uncertainty for the business, like many others in the leisure and hospitality sector, we wanted to support in any way can and invite them to The Ice Cream Farm once we’re open again, which we’re really looking forward to.”
The Ice Cream Farm is currently closed due to Covid-19 but to keep updated, follow The Ice Cream Farm on Facebook or Instagram or visit: www.theicecreamfarm.co.uk
Cheshire Farm Ice Cream has come a long way since 1986 when it was just a small parlour selling ice cream straight from the farm.
