With everyone’s finances feeling the pinch at the moment it is getting harder to afford those meals out. We get it. But there are some things that still should be considered. April is on the horizon, “Stress Awareness month” is coming and there’s no doubt that: –
I know these things are true because I just found them on the NHS website. 10 stress busters – NHS (www.nhs.uk)
So, here we go, a Taste Cheshire recommendation for a stress busting, purse friendly meal out…. LUNCH AT ARTEZZAN.
There are several elements as to why we chose Artezzan for this.
Firstly, the atmosphere, the ambience, the décor, whatever you want to call it, the whole environment at Artezzan is soothing. They envelop you in their signature scent. The comfy chairs encourage you to sit a while. The cool colours paired with warmer sandy tones give you the feeling of being on holiday without leaving grey, rainy, Chester.
Secondly, it’s a great place to bring friends, colleagues or family together. The motto of the Artezzan staff is, “it’s all about you”. That’s what they focus on. Ensuring you and your guests have the best possible experience. This goes beyond just good service and stretches more towards welcoming you as part of their family.
and lastly and most importantly.

Here comes the offer, two pinchos and a main course
and the price, an easy, and slightly unbelievable £17.95!!!
The portion sizes are generous, the balance of flavours is sublime and you’ll leave both stuffed and satisfied without the guilt of an empty wallet.
At this level, the addition of a glass of wine is quite easy to do…and if you’re lucky enough to have the rest of the day off you could split a bottle.
We of course just HAD to go and try this out for you, (the meal not the wine, we don’t always get drunk on the job!) and headed to Artezzan for a special and speedy lunch.
We began with our pinchos. I selected the Grilled Chorizo, a delicious combo of smoky chorizo, sweet honey and salty feta and the Mushroom Bruschetta, an absolute must for fans of the fungi!
Briony chose the Smoked Haddock Arancini, and I actually watched her lick the plate clean of the mayo at the end. She was slightly more ladylike with the belly pork, a truly special starter which sings with apple puree and the crunch of fried sage.
On to the mains and Artezzan are known for their Carbonara. When they do the Grand version of an evening, it’s quite a sight to see, but at lunchtime, we didn’t really have time for a full show so my plate piled high with delicious pasta was more than satisfying.
However, I confess to rampant food envy as Briony was presented with a massive plate of battered hake. The Artezzan/Mediterranean version of fish and chips this huge plate of food featured patatas bravas alongside the perfectly cooked fish, with a little heat from Padron peppers and creamy paprika aioli.
Not only this, but the ladies at the next table who were thoroughly enjoying beautiful cocktails, enjoyed the chicken souvlaki. A huge plate piled high with the shining kebab skewer, salad, flatbread and dips. Food envy once again reared it’s head. (I’m having that next time).
It’s not just great value for money, an opportunity to catch up and a lovely venue. The food is outstanding. Real thought has been put in to the balance of flavours, the textures and the generous portion sizes combine to make the menu here one where you will want to try everything!
Taste Cheshire thoroughly recommend the Artezzan weekday lunch menu and will themselves be going back as soon as they can. TC was gifted this experience by Artezzan but we stand by our comments in this piece. If you don’t believe us, or even if you do, we recommend you try it for yourself as soon as possible,
If you are suffering from Stress, please be kind to yourself and seek professional help alongside support from friends and family. Don’t suffer in silence.
Artezzan takes an honest approach to Mediterranean inspired food served in a modern, fresh, feel-good way.
