After a few too many in a few of Chester finest bars on Saturday night, myself and a group of friends who were visiting for the weekend found ourselves in need of a good Sunday meal. Of course the first place that came to mind was Hickory’s and what a good choice it was!
After a few too many in a few of Chester finest bars on Saturday night, myself and a group of friends who were visiting for the weekend found ourselves in need of a good Sunday meal. Of course the first place that came to mind was Hickory’s and what a good choice it was!
We managed to get a last minute booking for just after lunchtime, and feeling very lucky we rushed down there to be greeted by the wonderful staff. I have eaten at Hickory’s many times, but never inside, so it was a real treat for me, and my friends had never been before. They loved the fact that we could enjoy our meal overlooking the river but from the privacy of our own booth. They also loved the added extras of Popcorn whilst you peruse the menu, which added that extra special touch to their visit!
We took our time deciding what to order as everything sounded so good, but in typical girl fashion we could not make up our minds. Eventually we opted for the nachos, the smoked sausage and sweet potato mash, and the Hickories burger, with added mac n’ cheese and chilli fries. And all ended up picking at each others food and left feeling very full but very satisfied.
Possibly the stand out of the meal was the mint chocolate milkshake. Of all my visits to Hickory’s (and there have been many!) this was never something I have thought to try. Normally I am to focused on the cocktail menu, to consider a milkshake, but it was Sunday afternoon after all! I always think of milkshakes as a dessert option, and so next time I visit I will try to leave a little room to indulge in a milkshake.
Thanks Hickory’s for your great service and of course great food! We had a lovely time and the girls are already asking when we can next visit! So I’m sure you will be seeing us again soon.
