The Planet Café has a truly unique setting at UNESCO World Heritage Site Jodrell Bank Observatory, home to the world-famous Lovell Telescope.
The Café is open daily from 10am – 4pm so you can simply pop by for your choice of breakfasts, sandwiches and pastries, hot soups, and delicious cakes.
With a keen focus on sustainability, The Planet Café team work with local suppliers to bring fresh, local and sustainable produce to their visitors and all dietary requirements are catered for from vegan to gluten free. Check out our menu….
Throughout the summer, customers can head out on to the café terrace, complete with a stunning constellation canopy providing shelter and shade. Or, order your food to go and find yourself a perfect picnic spot within the site’s 35 acres of gardens (admission charges apply).
The café makes for a popular destination for cycling clubs and individual cyclists from around the North West and you’ll find a covered, well-lit bike shed to store your bike during your visit.
And finally, café customers are also encouraged to extend their visit by taking in the exhibitions and displays at Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre.
Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre can be found just off the A535 between Chelford and Holmes Chapel. You can also take Junction 18 of the M6 and follow the tourist signs straight to the entrance where you’ll find ample parking.
Jodrell Bank is based in the Cheshire countryside and is surrounded by rural lanes including National Cycling Network routes 55, 70, 71 and 573. We are 2.5 miles from Goostrey train station (which is on NCN route 573) and just 10 miles from Macclesfield train station.
