Welcome to The Henry Potts, a city pub in the basement of Chester’s historic Watergate House. We have good honest food, a range of beers and ales that we’re proud of and some excellent wines, some of which we blend and import ourselves. Despite being in a basement, it’s a welcoming and cosy place to be, and the staff aren’t too bad either.
The Henry Potts was opened on the 1st June 2022 and is the fourth pub belonging to Pubs Limited, which was founded and run by Jerry Brunning, formerly Brunning & Price, other pubs are Swan at Marbury, Black Bear in Whitchurch and The Hare at Farndon. The pub is so named after Henry Potts, who the house was built for in 1820.
This is Your local pub in the city, offering good honest food, cracking beers and interesting wines with a warm welcome.
We are proud to offer seasonal dishes, classic pub dishes, locally sourced ingredients, everything including our ice cream is made by us in our new, state of the art, full induction kitchen.
We host a back bar of over 200 spirits including 70+ gins, 50+ whiskies and 30 rums – and an ever-changing classic cocktail list, we think its worth a try.
