SPECIAL GUEST AT EXCLUSIVE WINE, BEER AND BBQ EVENT: BENTS GARDEN & HOME 15THJUNE #Blog

Award-winning Private Eye cartoonist, Tony Husband will be appearing at a weekend event at Bents, dedicating all things BBQ, beer and wine!
Tony will be at the event on Saturday 15thJune with his ‘cartoon confessional area’ where visitors can have their ‘confession’ made into a personalised cartoon on the day for a minimal charge.
This has been brought about by Bents Garden & Home sponsoring an exciting new national wine competition, People’s Choice Wine Awards, based in the North West. They were proud sponsors of the One Man and His BBQ category, won by Wakefield Wine with their St Andrew’s Shiraz.
VIP guests will get to meet Tony, try the winning wine for free and buy a bottle to take home from the amazing on-site independent wine merchants Reserve Wines.
Matthew Bent, MD of Bents Garden & Home said “We stock a huge range of top-quality Barbeques too, so support of this category seemed like a natural fit. Our customers appreciate a nice bottle and anything to make that buying decision easier for them is a great thing!”
Kate Goodman, owner of Reserve Wine, situated within Bents Garden & Home, is a PCWA round 2 expert judge too, so a lovely collaboration for all involved.
Tony Husband is an award-winning cartoonist, based in Hyde, who famously created cartoons for Private Eye, The Times and many other national newspapers and magazines. He also created all the cartoons for each of the winning wine categories in the PCWA and we’ll have the One Man & His BBQ sketch at the event.

You might say this is perfect timing as PCWA are recruiting for new amateur wine judges for their 2020 awards. So if you are a wine lover and fancy putting yourself forward for the judging panel in October, then you will have a chance to speak to the organiser, Manchester based Janet Harrison, on the day.
