You ready to party?
Following the relaxation of restrictions this week, Cruise Nightclub has finally reopened after two long years. It’s reopening Monday night saw queues stretching the length of St. John’s Street and a party atmosphere which has been missing for so long.
Cruise is a local, independent night time venue, which is asking for the support of locals as well as the student population. They request that attendees do take a lateral flow test before coming down and if anyone does have Covid 19 symptoms that they stay away until they are well again.
Cruise has relaunched it’s weekend nights, beginning this Friday, 23rd July, with two new brands BEDLAM (Fridays) and KARMA (Saturdays). These nights are being run by loca businessman Mike Hannigan who owns the coffee shop, Somewhere Else, on Garden Lane, Chester.
“Nightclubs have been closed now for so long.” Mike said, “There’s a whole 2 years of school leavers, 18- and 19-year-olds who have never been inside a club. My heart breaks for them, they have missed so many opportunities to make memories”.
“These last two year have been so stressful for everyone, and it’s been so hard not being able to celebrate the positive things like birthdays, graduations, weddings etc. Now is the time to support our night time hospitality industry and come together to celebrate reopening.”
So that’s the club at the end of the night sorted…What about drinks before hand?
Step in Popcorn. We know and love Popcorn for it’s fun, relaxed atmosphere and now they have the option to upgrade to their Gold Room.
The Gold Room Chester is a secret bar in Chester, located downstairs in Popcorn and we are here to let you in on the Secret! Open Friday & Saturday 8pm-late, the stunning décor, paired with eclectic cocktail choices make is an Aladdin’s cave. (so long as your three wishes are top shelf liquor, opulent surroundings and good times.)
Find them on Instagram as @thegoldroomchester and DM them to secure your seat. Space is limited in this, Chester’s shiniest, happiest, drinking den.
So What about Food?
Well that’s always the biggest question in our office and St John’s Street comes up trumps again with the new kid on the block, BONOBO Bar and Canteen.
In the former site of The Alchemist, right by the amphitheatre, Bonobo is the brainchild of Cameron Ryalls. Hospitality is in his blood as his dad operates long standing Chester restaurant Moules a Go Go.
Taking Walk-ins only this stylish hangout and eco system is across two floors.
Open from 5pm, It’s specialities are pizza and mac n cheese, alongside cocktails and rum in particular.
The bar atmosphere comes with music ’til late and there’s free wifi so you can upload all the good times to the ‘gram.
So there you go, St. John’s street is clearly the new place to be, especially if you want to celebrate the unlocking in style.
