Summer Bubbles #Tasty Thursday

It’s Tasty Thursday once again and this week’s instalment is Emma from Weights & Wine. Her feature is all about Summer bubbles whether you are drinking at home or out and about around the area.

The days are getting longer and lighter and after that mini heatwave in February, I don’t know about you, but I am very much looking forward to enjoying some bubbles in the sunshine this summer. There is something about sunshine and fizz that goes together beautifully. I’ve done some budget, organic and drinking out options so hopefully there is something for everyone.

My top recommendations for a glass of bubbles and where to drink them this summer.

On a budget

Aldi have a Rosé-Spumante, an Italian rose sparkling wine which is a real fruity and fresh easy drinker. At £5.79 a bottle this won’t break the bank.

Another Supermarket favourite is the Conegliano Prosecco from Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference range. It is lovely and crisp with pear and citrus flavours that just sing summertime. At £5.75 a bottle this is one cheap tipple you can enjoy all summer long.

If you prefer your Prosecco dry then Asda do a £6 extra dry Italian Prosecco boasting pear, lemon and apple fruit flavours.

Organic

Organic ProseccoMany of my Personal Training clients have talked to me about Aldi’s Organic range when it comes to wine and fizz. The consensus was always positive, and it didn’t let me down. Their Organic Italian Prosecco will set you back £7.99 a bottle. They don’t use any pesticides or herbicides in their vineyard and on top of that they use renewable energy wherever they can. If that doesn’t make you feel virtuous enough, one of my clients swears Organic booze doesn’t give you a hangover!

If you remember – I told you all to bulk buy this before Christmas! (It’s still good)

Drinking Out

With the weather starting to gradually improve, there is nothing better than heading out to try somewhere new. Here’s some fantastic places to enjoy a glass (or bottle) local.

Cork of the North – Heaton Moor.

With helpful and informative staff on hand to help you decide just what you’re in the mood for and small plate food on offer, what’s not to love? This place has an impressive selection of wine on offer and is definitely worth a visit, they’re based in Heaton Moor and Sale.

The Parrswood

This pub boasts two impressive outside seating areas, great for catching some summer sun. They also run a Fizzy Friday offer on Prosecco with food – who doesn’t love that?

Piccolino

In Alderley Edge is a firm summer favourite with a gorgeous inside/outside style area for drinks in the summer. Get there early because this place fills up fast and is as popular for food as it is for drinks.

There are so many fantastic places to enjoy your bubbles this Summer. Wherever you go make sure you have a glass for me and enjoy the sunshine to the max.
