Table for Two… Plus One! A Very Special Delivery at The Chef’s Table

Taste Cheshire award winning, The Chef’s Table in Chester is renowned for serving up unforgettable culinary experiences, but on Saturday, 6th June, they served up a first-of-its-kind surprise that left the entire team—and the county—completely starstruck.

Move over Michelin stars, because the restaurant has just welcomed its most dramatic, exclusive, and tiny VIP guest to date.

A Lunch Date to Remember

It started out as a normal, lovely Saturday afternoon. Parents Jessica and Emanuel were sitting down to enjoy a delicious lunch at the restaurant. Little did they know, their daughter Matilde was already proving to be a major foodie, utterly determined not to miss out on the menu.

Without warning, Jessica suddenly went into labour right there in the dining room. Matilde was clearly keen not to wait a single moment longer to experience The Chef’s Table, and just a few minutes later, she decided it was time to make her grand entrance.

Manager Maya Saves the Day!

With things moving at lightning speed, the restaurant team had to pivot from hospitality to healthcare in seconds.

Manager Maya jumped straight into action, getting on the phone with the emergency services. With the operator calmly guiding her through exactly how to assist with the delivery, the team braced themselves. Within moments, baby Matilde let out her very first cry, bringing an enormous, emotional wave of relief to everyone in the room.

“It was an exciting, slightly terrifying, and truly unforgettable moment for all involved,” the restaurant shared. “We’re delighted to welcome our very first Chef’s Table baby.”

Making it Official 😂

The wonderful news is that both Mum Jessica and baby Matilde are happy, healthy, and doing absolutely brilliantly.

But the story gets even better. After registering the arrival of their beautiful baby girl, Emanuel and big brother Alex actually popped back into the restaurant to celebrate. They proudly revealed that they have declared “The Chef’s Table”as Matilde’s official place of birth on her legal certificates!

Safe to say, this little one has guaranteed herself a lifetime of VIP bookings. The restaurant has already promised that no matter how busy the weekend rush gets, Matilde will always have a table waiting for her.
