With a staggering 44,000 votes cast in this years Taste Cheshire Food and Drink Awards organisers today announced the finalists in each of the categories for the 2019 Awards. Taste Cheshire CEO Stephen Wundke was thrilled with the response “ Every year now for two decades the people of Cheshire have been voting for their favourite places in these awards and this year more than ever they have cast their votes. Our special thanks to our sponsors of each award without whom we wouldn’t be able to continue to stage these awards. Each year, at our Presentation Dinner, when we crown our champions, we get to see just how important these are to those within the industry. It is very satisfying seeing so many people all together at the very top of their profession. Now comes the hard part as each nomination is now mystery dined and shopped by industry experts over the coming 4 weeks to see who will be the Gold, Silver and bronze winners. So if you are dining alone over the next few weeks you just might get some exceptional, above and beyond service! I wish every nomination the best of luck and look forward to seeing many of our winners at the presentation”
This year was the first where Taste Cheshire have introduced Food and Drink Producer Awards. These have been sponsored by Square Pie, a newly based Cheshire business who are keen to support the local producer and Taste Cheshire General Manager, Briony Wilson was keen to highlight this area. “We know, through the many markets, fiestas and festivals that we run that Cheshire has some of the finest and most innovative food and drink producers and these awards were created to celebrate all of these food heroes, from the cottage industry up to the main line producer. Hopefully this will be just the start and we can grow this category even further in years to come”.
The Awards dinner takes place on April 24th at Chester Racecourse. For more information go to www.tastecheshire.com.
