Now in its 17th year and with only 2 more sleeps to go for our very own Chester Food & Drink Festival this weekend. We chatted to Gavin Matthews talking highlights of what to expect. Here are just a few of the things that will be going on:-
Outstanding Celebrity Chef and female heart throb, Jean Christophe Novelli will be joining us as our headline chef on Saturday the 15th of April. Jean-Christophe Novelli is a 5 out of 5 AA Rosette and Michelin award winning chef, who is also dubbed “the nations favourite french chef”.
In conjunction with Samphire Magazine, the 4 finalists from our Young Baker competition will be cooking their bake on Saturday the 15th April where they will be judged by none other than Jean Christophe Novelli.
On Sunday 16 April we have Masterchef Star Gregg Wallace judging our Young Chef competition. The four finalists from West Cheshire and South Cheshire colleges will battle it out to become Taste Cheshire Young Chef of the Year.
We have increased our children’s cookery classes this year from 4 to 6 as there were 900 children who cooked with us last year. A great opportunity for keen little cooks.
Ever fancied yourself as a guru at filleting a fish! Pop along too our Cookery Classes hosted by Sam Elliott of Cheshire Cookery School. Sam has 3 classes on each day for you to join in all for free.
A massive 44,000 people voted for their favourite places to eat and drink for this years Taste Cheshire Awards and the judges are finalising their reviews as I write. We are so excited to announce the winners at our Gala Dinner on 19 April which is being held at Chester Racecourse and will be attended by over 330 people from the county’s best places to dine and drink.
