Wow. What an Easter weekend.
The team here have only just recovered from what was the best attended Taste Cheshire Food and Drink Festival of all time.
We had to pop on and just say a huge thank you. Chester Residents turned out in record numbers to support the event, with their families, their dogs and big smiles on their faces.
Thank you to all those people who have supported the team, mentally and physically through a tough run up to the event. The on site team at the festival are made of friends and family who join us every year, they are as much part of the event as we are and they make us laugh, smile and keep us going with their incredible energy and enthusiasm.
Izzy Grey once again did a fantastic job hosting our Chef Demonstration stage. Those of you who attended I’m sure would agree that our celebrity chefs were wonderful, funny, engaging, and knowledgeable as well as generous with their time. The local chefs were fabulous ambassadors for both their restaurants and their county, Cheshire can be very proud of all of them.
Thank you too the Chef Emma Shawcross our amazing Home economist who supports our chefs with everything from ingredients, equipment, a good cup of tea or a cuddle.
Our food exhibitors out did themselves with the range of flavours and unique ideas this year…(I mean, savoury crumble…who knew?) with a delightful mix of our regulars and new face we are so lucky to have such a variety of passionate and brilliant food vendors.
We enjoyed a full campsite of people having a wonderful time staying in the heart of Chester and popping in and out of the food festival. Thanks to LFX, Tipple on Tap and Grills and Chills for providing an excellent customer experience as well as The Hospice of the Good Shepherd for so much entertainment.
Thank you to All About Greens and Pippa Lee for providing wonderful adult cooking classes packed with information, tips, techniques and fun!
Thank you Chef James Holden and team for the fantastic kids cooking classes, not only did they all look adorable in their little chefs hats, they also took some new ideas and skills home and maybe they will be cooking for the family before long.
Thanks to our brilliant choirs PopVox and Proud Mary’s who delighted the crowds with their wonderful singing. What talented people.
Thank you to all those who helped by sharing our news, talking about us and generally being a great support, including and not limited to Chester BID, Chester Resident’s Association, New Chester Market, Marketing Cheshire, We Love Good Times and Cheshire West and Chester Council.
The biggest of thank yous to all those who came, ate, drink and enjoyed the festival whether it was on the Sunny Saturday or the windy Monday, you were brilliant.
Same again next year?
The Taste Cheshire Chester Food and Drink Festival 2023 will be back THIS Easter Weekend AND will be bigger and better than ever for our 22nd year.
