As we head into the Autumn, we start to think about getting cosy and embracing the chillier evenings with gorgeous food and drink, which wraps you up in a blanket and warms you up from the inside. Luxurious hot chocolate always hits the spot, and if there’s a cheeky rum or liqueur mixed in, then all the better!

Palm Chester 

If you’re talking super-fashionable when it comes to food and drink in Chester, then Palm is the word! By day a foodie paradise serving the most gorgeous sweet and savoury treats, as well as one of the city’s favourite bottomless brunches on a Sunday. By night a cocktail lover’s dream with a bistro-style menu to delight!

Their epic hot chocolates taste just as good as they look too – here’s our favourite:

Palm Frozen Hot Chocolate – £3.95

A traditional hot chocolate but with a Palm twist! This is a mouth-watering, frozen, white hot chocolate blended with milk and rose water then topped with cream, toasted marshmallows and sprinkles.

 

Hickory’s Hot Chocolate

 

No hot chocolate is complete without the marshmallows, but at Hickory’s Smokehouse Chester the marshmallows are the star ingredient! Indulge your inner child (and your actual children) by toasting marshmallow skewers at the table over your very own campfire to dip into a decadent, rich and insanely indulgent hot chocolate sauce.  More than a dessert, this is a real memory-maker.

 

 

 

Leonidas

 

There is literally chocolate everywhere you look at Leonidas. My great friend Mustie is nuts about customer service, offering such a unique food and drink experience right in heart of the city. A fully licensed bistro and café with a huge selection of the best quality chocolates to buy as gifts (for someone special or just for yourself), Leonidas is much more than a friendly pit-stop. And as you can imagine, the hot chocolates are fully loaded and totally off the choccie chart!

 

 

Urbano32

Urbano32 serves fabulous drinks as well as amazing pizza! Claire and her team absolutely love to mix it up on the cocktail front – plus they serve one of the very best hot chocolates in town! Keep it straight-up for the little ones, or add a shot of rum, baileys or Kahlua for the grown-ups. Here is River showing his full appreciation with a great big chocolatey grin!

 

 

 

 

 

The Hollies Farm Shop

We absolutely love the special hot chocolates served at The Hollies – this was one of our favourites (Happy Hippo), but you can look forward to so many more creations! We also have to mention those oh-so-naughty Planet Doughnut delights, and lots more chocolate

 

 

 

 

The Moorings

No stroll along the River Dee in the Autumn sunshine is complete without a delicious hot chocolate at The Moorings. The Moorings is situated on the Groves, a wonderful historical part of Chester. Chester’s Groves are 300 years old this year, The paved promenade is in heart of Chester running alongside the River Dee. It’s absolutely one of our favourite places and The Moorings is a wonderful place to enjoy full river views including the fabulous local rowing clubs out on the water.
