The Beer Fest – Hoole Community Centre 2pm-10.30pm 3/10/2015
The focus is German beer, so there will be ten or so beers, on cask and keg, from German breweries plus a few blockbusters from the Blueball brewery and a few local ones too. You can find the beer details here http://www.yourround.co.uk/Festival/Chester/OctoberfestBurger-Off/CH2.aspx …
There’ll be burgers, brats, hot dogs, fries and the like. There will be live music courtesy of 3Kings, supplemented with a few cheesy Oom-Pah songs and a smattering of leftfield brass based numbers, too.
This event will also see the inaugural #BurgerOff take its first Bambi like steps. Ten of Chester’s finest bars and pubs will do battle in two competitions – the Mocking Bird Tap, the Oaklands, Luke and Gin Rickys, Joseph Benjamin, the Chef’s Table, the Bridge Inn, Moules a Go Go, the Piper, the Lodge Bar and the Hollows.
The King of Burgers
It’s time to answer the burning question on everyone’s lips: who makes the best burgers in Chester? This competition will be judged by a panel of five local dignitaries/celebrities/bloggers including the Lord Mayor and Gavin Matthews from Dee 106FM.
The Freestyle Battle
This is where anything goes. No rules for this one. This competition will be judged by a group of five burger lovers picked at random.
Tickets
Tickets are £1 and are available from the Kash Tap Rooms, Chester Beer and Wine and Hoole Community Centre (Mon-Fri 9-12pm) – a nominal fee as we just need to know numbers so we can manage capacity.
The Chef's Table is a beautiful, light and airy restaurant situated near Chester Town Hall.
