The White Horse Guest Chef Series Returns with a Stellar Line-Up of Leading UK Chefs
The White Horse in Churton has announced the latest line-up for its Guest Chef Series, with chefs from across the UK heading to the pub for a series of one-off guest chef nights throughout spring 2026. Known for bringing some of the country’s most respected chefs to this Cheshire village setting, the series continues to draw talent from across the country.

For a rural pub, the calibre of chefs travelling to Churton is remarkable. In recent years the kitchen has welcomed an impressive line-up, including Michelin-starred chefs such as Tom Kerridge, Angela Hartnett, Michel Roux Jr and Emily Roux, alongside leading food writers and well-known names from across the industry.
This spring, the series returns with another strong line-up of chefs from across the UK. For each event, a visiting chef creates a one-off menu for a small number of diners, with guests seated just metres from the pass. The format offers a rare level of access, with chefs regularly stepping out to speak with guests, finish dishes at the table and bring diners closer to the experience than a traditional restaurant setting allows.
The series has also raised The White Horse’s national profile, with the pub recently named in the Estrella Damm Top 50 Gastropubs list for 2026. For a village pub in rural Cheshire, it’s a notable moment and a sign of how far it has come.
Gary Usher, founder of Elite Bistros, comments: “From the start the idea was simple. Bring great chefs into the pub, cook something special and give people a night worth travelling for. What’s been amazing is how it’s grown. We’ve now got chefs coming from all over the country to cook in Churton, which is pretty mad when you think about it.
What makes these nights work is how relaxed they are. Some of the best chefs in the UK turning up, cooking in a pub kitchen for the evening and serving a room full of people who are genuinely excited to be there. It’s not a typical restaurant service and that’s the whole point. It feels more personal, more fun and it’s been brilliant to see both the chefs and the diners get so much out of it.”
Among the first events announced for the 2026 Guest Chef Series are:
