Taste Cheshire has always had a great relationship with the fantastic Wine School of Cheshire and we are so excited for their latest collaboration.
The Wine School of Cheshire have joined for forces with Art Box, the professional art gallery for emerging local artists on Boughton, Chester, to host wine schools, evening tastings and corporate events.
Mixing the world of art and wine, and supported by local catering school, Academy West who pair a signature 5-course tasting menu at the Saturday events and canapes for the evening events, The Wine School was looking for a new venue to provide its customers with a new experience.
“Rick Nieto, the patron of Art Box, has been a customer of the wine school for a number of years and knew I was looking for new premises. Rick suggested the art gallery could be the ideal location which, indeed, it is proving to be. The gallery is easy to get to, on the outskirts of Chester and our customers are enjoying tasting wine accompanied by delicious foods while surrounded by amazing art created by local artists from in and around the Chester area,” commented Richard Smith of the Wine School.
Both businesses are keen on supporting and mentoring young people in Chester, as commented by Liz Dunning, Manager and Curator of Art Box, who said:
“The marriage between Art Box and The Wine School of Cheshire has brought new-found interest to our community gallery from the patrons of the wine school. Indeed, we have been delighted how popular the events have been. Our tables are designed to seat couples but we have found everyone to be sociable between tables as they enjoy the delicious wine and food amongst the displays of fantastic artwork created by emerging local artists.”
Where possible, Academy West sources its produce for the tasting menus and canapes from Cheshire and the surrounding areas including a quality butcher on the outskirts of Ellesmere Port. Each food item is made by the students, from scratch.
“The tasting menu is designed to complement the selection of wines from a particular country, or with a certain theme,” commented Richard.
“Both the teams at Art Box and ourselves are thrilled to be supporting another career path for young students in the area by teaming up with Academy West. The tasting menus and canapes pair with our wines exceptionally well,” Richard continued.
Interested parties can book tables for up to six with private parties available to book with up to 12 people.
The Wine School of Cheshire events take place on Thursday and Friday evenings from 7pm – 9pm and on Saturdays from 12noon – 5pm. With forthcoming themes including ‘Big reds before Bonfire Night’ on Thursday 3rd November to ‘Discover New Zealand’ on Friday 4th – to a South African-themed tasting menu lunch on Saturday 5th November.
