Three Awards for the Hawarden Estate Farm Shop at the Taste Cheshire Food & Drink Awards #Blog

We’re feeling incredibly proud of our whole team this week, after scooping up three prizes at Taste Cheshire’s Food and Drink Awards last Thursday. We had multiple nominations, and won Gold for Best Customer Service and Silver both for Best Deli and for Best Local Produce. We strive for excellence across the board every day, so we are thrilled to have won these accolades. Though the awards are decided on by a panel, the nominations were made by you, so a huge thank you from all of us to all of you who put us forward for nominations. The photo above sums up quite well how we feel about it!

At our award winning deli along with our famous home made pies, scotch eggs and sausage rolls, we have a wide selection of freshly home made salads and sandwiches which can either be eaten here in our cafe, or you can take away with you. You can take a look at our menu here and plan ahead what you’re going to have. Our sandwiches are served on either a combicorn roll or a poppy seeded roll and you can choose from five delicious fillings, Sweet Bacon with Welsh Brie and Cranberry is one of our favourites and highly recommended. The salads are made of locally sourced seasonal vegetables and make for a healthy lunch choice. Try the Sweet Potato with Sweet Mustard Vinaigrette, it’s a popular choice.

And don’t miss your last chance to enter our sausage making competition which closes tomorrow. We’re challenging you to come up with a new flavour of sausage, and to post it here on our Facebook page. The winner -our favourite suggestion- and a friend will get to make the sausages themselves, under the expert instruction of Liam and our team at the butchery, and take a kilo of the sausages home with them too. Also at the butchery this week we have had a new delivery of estate beef as well as some delicious lamb, beef and chicken grill sticks for your barbecue this weekend. Saturday’s forecast is looking great again, so stop by and have a chat to the team, who can recommend some of our barbecue favourites for you.
