We were so excited to be dining at Urbano 32 and for those who love Pizza who wouldn’t be! The restaurant decor is rather like a trendy New York Apartment with brick walls, plus a bar, booths and tables. On arriving at 6:30 we were greeted by a lovely gentleman who was behind the bar and appeared to be in charge of the restaurant. He handed us over to a very friendly waitress who showed us to our booth and offered us menus and drinks. The waitress gave us the main menu and the daily specials. We were lucky to be seated in a booth which created more of an intimate and personal dining experience.
We ordered our drinks, a large bottle of sparkling water plus a jug of water which came and had been infused with cucumber, such a lovely refreshing touch. My 11 year old son ordered a chocolate milkshake, which came in a silver, almost tankard, he was in his element and had no problem finishing the lot and licking his lips with satisfaction.
Having pondered the menu’s we all decided to opt for Pizza as the choices were far too tempting not too! We could not resist ordering something to nibble on whilst we waited for the Pizzas to cook in the fabulous and exposed Pizza Oven.
We shared the Urbano 32 Bread Board (Olive Oil, Balsamic Vinegar) 4 and Garlic Bread (Mozzarella) 4.5. We couldn’t wait to tuck in! The Bread Board was, as described, ciabatta bread with plenty of olive oil and balsamic vinegar in a small dishes to dip the bread into, my daughters absolute favourite. The garlic bread was a small sized pizza which oozed with garlicky butter and generous amounts of mozzarella baked on top. We managed to polish off the breads in no time at all!
For my Pizza I chose the Mussels, Prawn, Squid, Clams, Chilli, Garlic, Tomato and I added Mozzarella and extra chilli 13.5. My children chose Tomato, Mozzarella, Basil 8, and Proscuitto, Rocket, Parmesan, Tomato, Mozzarella 11, we also ordered a side of Rocket, Parmesan, Balsamic Dressing 3/6.
The Pizza’s were cooked fresh in the magnificent Pizza Oven, which you can see across the restaurant. And delicious they all were. I had ordered extra chilli on my seafood pizza (because I am often disappointed with the lack of chilli, and if I am having chilli I want to taste it!) and am glad I did as it had a great chilli after kick just as I like it, just enough to feel the heat but not overpowering the delicate seafood. My son who chose the Margarita pizza polished the lot off. He is a margarita pizza specialist and this one comes high in his top 3. My daughter chose the Proscuitto pizza, she is not a massive pizza fan, and I was surprised she didn’t opt for another dish, but I am glad she didn’t as her’s really did look the most appealing! with fresh Parma Ham and Parmesan and a sprinking of Rocket – it doesn’t get fresher than that. She declared it as a great pizza and would definitely order it next time. Praise indeed.
When it came to desserts, I just couldn’t eat anymore so ordered a coffee. My children both ordered ice cream and were offered a choice of 2 flavours. They came in glass dishes topped with a sprig of mint and dusted with icing sugar. There was no ice cream left in the glasses for me to even have a spoonful!
Urbano 32 really is a great bustling restaurant for families and friends to have a casual dining experience with great food in a trendy venue. I always like to visit the toilets in a place, you can tell the cleanliness by the toilets. And wow, these were spotless and very funky. I will leave it to you to visit to experience them!
On leaving the restaurant feeling full and very satisfied we had a lovely chat with the waitress who was just a pleasure and was great with the children.
As well as the main menu, Urbano 32 also have a Gluten Free and a Vegan section, they also serve Brunch everyday. A great way to start your day whilst watching the world go by.
The 2 for 1 Pizza Tuesday is a fabulous deal and very popular – need I say anymore about why.
Urbano 32, thank you for a great evening, we will most definitely be back.
