Urbano 32 – Lunch Without a Lunch Menu #Review

During my time at Taste Cheshire, I’ve gotten to know the Urbano 32 brand and frequently look at their pictures when publishing content and each time I post about them I’m reminded I need to go. Luckily, my step-mum offered to take me out for lunch and where better to go than Urbano 32. I usually go to Urbano on a Tuesday because who can resist that two for one deal, however,  they’ve just opened the upstairs area and I wanted to have a gander at what they’d done. It looks fabulous!

We booked for 12.15PM and upon getting there, we were warmly welcomed by a lovely girl who then seated us immediately by the window. It wasn’t too busy but there were a few people in there, some eating, some just enjoying a drink or two. Now, Urbano 32 don’t actually have a lunch menu but when looking at the prices for our meal, its average for lunch in Chester.

For starters, Michelle ordered the Chicken and Chorizo Skewers which had the right amount of smokiness and was complimented perfectly by the rocket and the red pepper puree. The red pepper puree was just what the dish needed to send it to the next level. I will admit I was rather jealous when Michelle’s starter came, I know what I’ll be ordering next time. I ordered the Urbano Bread Board that comes with a variety of breads and oils; it was delicious. The focaccia was divine, and I could have eaten a plate of just that. There was a lot of bread, maybe too much for a starter.  The only downside was that some of the sliced bread that was toasted didn’t soak up the oils as much as we would have liked due to it being toasted but that’s just personal preference.

Then came the main meals; it took around 8 minutes between our starters being taken away and the mains arriving. Of course, we decided to order pizza while at Urbano – they do amazing pizzas. Michelle ordered the chicken, sun dried tomato, pesto, pine nut, tomato and mozzarella pizza with additional rocket. According to her, the pizza was fabulous. It was well balanced with the additional rocket that was added; it was exactly what she asked for and the team delivered like they always do. I ordered a pepperoni, chorizo, tomato and mozzarella pizza and added spinach to it, it was rather tasty. The crust was cooked to perfection. The thickness of it was the perfect middle of not too thin and not too thick – just right. They definitely weren’t stingy on the toppings; my only comment regarding the pizza would be that the chorizo would have been better if cut finer as it was a tad overpowering being so thick. Overall, it was a delicious pizza. The team of chefs that Urbano has gathered are brilliant and the rest of the team keep up that level of brilliance with their exceptional service. Throughout the meal, they checked on us to make sure everything was just how we wanted it just as they were doing with other customers. They checked up on us just the right amount, if you’re like myself you’ll know the hassle of having someone coming over to see you too much throughout your meal.

Overall it was a fantastic meal and we’ll definitely be returning. I would definitely go back for lunch, it a fabulous restaurant with great prices even if its not on a lunch menu.
