Voting commences this week – Friday 23rd January, for a 6 week period to find out who the winners will be of the 2015 Taste Cheshire Food and Drink Awards. The Chronicle, in conjunction with the Chester Food Drink & Lifestyle Festival will again be looking for you to nominate your favourite establishment from across the county, in the categories that are most applicable.
Over 5,000 votes were cast last year and organisers have extended the voting period by an extra two week to accommodate the many people who want to vote for their favourite venue. Taste Cheshire General Manager, Deanna Thomas said it was important that everyone had the opportunity to cast their vote “Last year we had a number of people who wanted to vote after we had closed voting and we felt this year, with the demand, we simply had to allow more people the chance to register. These awards are now the leading industry awards in Cheshire because they are voted for by customers and then judged by industry experts. Year after year the standard gets better and better across our county and our awards celebrate that commitment to excellence of the great local operators that we have of these quality businesses, who really do give visitors and locals – a “Taste of Cheshire”
The process to vote is simple and you are encouraged to vote for your favourite place in the appropriate category by going on line to www.chesterfoodanddrink.co.uk and going to the voting page. Voting is free.
Please be aware you can vote for whomever you wish in every category relevant but only one voting form will register from each computer.
When voting finishes on the 6th March we will name the four nominations in each category who will be mystery dined by a panel of industry judges. These judges will then fill in a report on each venue, which becomes available to the venue after the winners have been announced, showing how their business was judged.
The 2015 winners will be crowned at a glittering dinner on the 8th April which will be held at the Pavilion at Chester Racecourse. Tickets for this night are just £50.00 per person with a table of ten costing just £450 and include a pre-dinner cocktail and a 4 course gala meal provided by the Chester Race Company.
This is the one night of the year the hospitality industry, collectively lets its hair down and it is always one of the feature nights of the calendar.
